For the week that Aunt Amanda and Scottie were with us they had a full week of activities planned. First stop the Science Center. I had actually never taken my kids here fearing that there wasn't enough to do for their age range. Yes, there was stuff over their head but we also founds plenty of stuff to keep us busy. They have balls rolling along tracks that change tracks, etc that spans several stories and that really really fascinated Dylan. BUT first things first. We started out in the Planetarium across the highway from the science center to achieve free parking. We didn't realize how much fun we would have walking through it on our way to the science center.
The kids liked the Boeing section and Dylan would pick out the ones that he thought looked the coolest and he wanted to know what they were called. Like father like son.
There was a section on space tourism. They had a list of all the entries and finalists and then the one awarded. The kids picked this one out as their favorite for two reasons. First it was purple and second it reminded of the Little Einsteins movie's rocket ship.
Crossing into the science center over the highway where you get to look through telescopes, track how fast the cars are driving, and look through windows in the floor at the cars zooming under you.
Another favorite area was the dinosaur exhibits. Poor Olivia was very unsure about this section. I thought it was too funny that after a while of being in this area Dylan says "Don't worry the dinosaurs feet are stuck he can't get you." Obviously Dylan wasn't too worried because only the dinosaurs head and neck were moving.
Aunt Amanda teaching the science center workers a thing or two along with her niece and nephew. She had them hold petrified dinosaur poop and a stone that was in a dinosaurs digestive tract. The kids liked playing with these dinosaurs and asking questions and they felt safe inside this room from the large moving dinosaur outside.
We ended with watching a show/presentation on gravity where they were dropping objects from three stories up and talking about what you learn from each test performed. It was entertaining to the kids and hopefully taught them a thing or two as well. We were impressed how long the kids last. We are going to try to take Tom back sometime. When we were in the planetarium we thought how much he'd like it and they even had a free flight simulator and then in the science center they had a section about binary numbers, computer, and the internet and we were totally lost with trying to understand it let alone the kids getting it.

Awww... That was an awfully nice (not to mention, adorable) of Dylan to calm Olivia's fears with the comment about their feet being stuck.
