ONE Year Old

July 8th our sweet baby girl turned ONE!
She was so excited by the attention when she realized that everyone was watching her and cheering for her while opening her presents. She was totally hamming it up and getting so excited.

She was VERY spoiled but since she's the third and not much is only about her this was a special day to celebrate her. AND even at that Papa and Mommy got some presents and a cake too so I guess technically it wasn't only her day but she was still spoiled in comparison.

Mommy wised up this year and decorated the smash cake directly to her tray. I was torn on which summer bug to go with the butterfly or the lady bug but the lady bug won out. I think it's cute and it reminds me of when she was a lady bug for Halloween.

Again, excited to be sung to and have everyone's attention on her.
Sister and brother came over and blew her candle out for her.

The first few times she touched the cake she just had this look on her face like "whew" and then she'd look at us like "why" and then seeing that we were encouraging her to get dirty she was just a little confused why that was suppose to be fun. It was pretty funny.

But it didn't take too long before she got pretty messy. I know she tasted the frosting off of her fingers as they made it to her mouth several times but as for any actual cake being eaten I doubt it.

Scottie tried to demonstrated to Ashlyn what to do and then Olivia tried to dig into the cake to show Sister how to eat it but that only resulted in Ashley trying to feed Olivia since obviously she wanted some.

Then it didn't take long for Dylan to come over and help himself to some unwanted frosting. Dylan LOVES frosting and had already licked as many cupcakes as were available so it was time to move on to larger and more unclaimed frosting. Ashlyn's a good sharer.

A little bit about Ashlyn has she turns one. In one year she has gone from 8 pounds 8 ounces to 23 pounds 13 ounces. She has six teeth. She says Mama, Dada, Yeah, Uh-Oh, and Hi. She has started to fold her arms when we pray. She took her first few shaky steps behind the push walker we got her for her birthday. She crawls all over and pulls up easily now. She loves to eat table food and she loves her baths. She is our sweetheart and we LOVE her!
