Any guesses what did this to Dylan's face?

Dylan fell in the hay maze and got a couple of scratches on his face. I didn't think much of it at the time because it wasn't that bad. Then about 5 minutes later I start to notice that his cheek was getting red. This picture was taken about 30 minutes later at the peak of its reaction.
