Eckerts for our first Pumpkins

We were invited to go apple picking and pumpkin picking with our friends the Armstrongs. We were celebrating Emmett's 3rd birthday. We meet up at Eckert's and found out they were out of apples to pick. We were so sad but at least we got some pumpkins. We found three smallish ones for the kids to paint.

This pumpkin patch was huge and so we took our time exploring it and walking up and down the hill.

Family photo opportunity.

Before we lift Illinois we stopped by Alton where a replica of the Nina and Pinta were stopped for tourists. We just parked and looked at them. It was amazing to see. Amazing because they were so little. There is no way we would have wanted to be on them for months at a time crossing an ocean.
Dylan was particularly fascinated.
We could see a REALLY neat ship flying pirate flags behind these two boast but since it was sailing it was hard to see as it was sailing away from us.

After our outing we headed back to the Armstrong's for a fun evening. It involved soups, apple crisp, and a Dr. Who episode. The kids played and played and of course nobody wanted to go home when it was time. Thank you for the invitation from our friends!
