Ending out 2011

 On Tuesday we woke up to snow! 

It's the first of the season so the kids were SO EXCITED to go play in it!

 Ashlyn not so much. 

  

1st snow angel this Winter

The snow was melting fast so we had to get as much play time in as we could. 

The kids were excited that the snow by the curb stayed for a few days. They called this snow their fort and they did not like it if they saw neighbor kids playing on it. It was technically on the street but the kids claimed it as if it was just theirs.

By the time the kids came inside after an hour or so their snow pants were so wet they were soaked to the undies. I wasn't very impressed that their snow pants didn't keep the wet out but they were soaked. 

Tom got one smile out of Ashlyn on camera when she went down the slide!

 

During Tom's week off of work his top priority was to build shelves in the garage. Here is what he accomplished! He has a few more things to do but this was the bulk of the building and he got it done and everything put up off the floor. 

During our break we had a play date with the Larkin's and made gingerbread houses after dinner. 

Olivia has been asking me to make gingerbread houses for a couple of years now. I found a kit on clearance and decided we'd give it a try. Overall I think it was a fun time for the kids!! It was certainly tasty!!

 New Years Eve morning - What a cute bunch!

We started our party out with Kung Fu Panda 2 and Mater's Tall Tales and dinner in the living room. After that Daddy and Dylan played some Mario and Olivia crafted. It was at this point that we waited out the last little bit by measuring the kids on the growth chart, getting jammies on, and getting our sparkling grape juice ready to toast in the new year. Everyone made it to Midnight. We stepped outside to enjoy some of the fireworks our neighbors and area were putting off and danced and sang all about January. After the noise outside died down it was easy to get the kids to call it a night. 

Here's to a wonderful 2012 with our wonderful family and friends!!
