Spring - Yes? No? I don't know?

With Olivia on Spring Break I was looking forward to a week of going to the park and warm days. We woke up Monday morning to this...well at least school was on Spring Break otherwise they would have missed a day of school for snow.

Poor COLD spring flowers.

But the kids were thrilled. Dylan was half dressed in his snow gear before Olivia was awake.

It was a very wet snow which made for good snowman and snowballs. Ashlyn hung out some under the protection of the house while her sister and brother played around her.

Then things warmed up and we did get to the park two times during the week.

I also got a trip to the Magic House in so that Olivia could see the traveling exhibit of Bob the Builder. Dylan's favorite activity this time was pretending to cut wood complete with sound effects and everything. Olivia's favorite part was pretending to draw a blue print.

Kids playing dress up. Dylan has been really enjoying playing pirate and you have to refer to him as Captain Hook while he is dressed up.

Then from snow one Monday to 80 degree summer like weather the next Monday.
We pulled out the basketball hoop and the kids threw their soccer balls at it. The first 10 or so tries they totally missed and then they both started making 80% of their shots. I was impressed! Last summer if they wanted to make a shot Daddy had to pick them up and help them dunk it.

Then the other excitement this day was their attempt to climb on top of the play house. I completely blame Tom for this infatuation. One time he lifted Olivia on top of the house to push the snow off and they have begged to go back on top of the house every since. Well today they were DETERMINED to get up there. They'd go off and play and then they would try and then one would go off and play and one would try, over and over again......you get the idea. Well finally.......

HE DID IT!!!
He was so PROUD!!!!
Then poor sister she HAD to get up there. Brother did.
Then....

Both of them up there. They were so so happy. Then within a few minute both could get up and down at very easily. YES limits have been set on this whole climbing on roofs thing.
Determination at work.

Tired from watching Brother and Sister play outside oh and trying to eat grass.

There have been very dramatic weather swings. As I write this we have gotten another 5 inches of snow today and the kids were back out in it. It's been one of the snowiest winters we've had at least since having kids. Maybe Spring will come and stay in April.
