Okay so this morning the kids woke up to more presents wrapped and under the tree. In fact Olivia even said in her prayers tonight "Thankful for more presents!" So Cute!! Anyways, so Dylan gets a hold of one of his presents and rips it right open. This was surprising as he as really left the present alone up to this point. Olivia actually did this when she was about Dylan's age and pre-opened a Christmas present. So we decided to take pictures and enjoy it rather then get upset. So since Dylan got a present Olivia got hers too. They opened their big coloring book so they got their crayons and paint brushes to go with them. Thank you Nana and Grandpa!
Olivia has already painted two pictures and Dylan colored on the same picture several times throughout the day. Then this afternoon Olivia and I made ginger bread Christmas cookies. I don't like sugar cookies very much but I needed a cookie Olivia could use the cookie cutters Grandma Barnett gave her. So we tried ginger bread cookies and they turned out GREAT!! Olivia made angel, star, snowman, and christmas tree cookies. Thank you Grandma Barnett!
Some home excitement for today.
1. We notice a small sewer back up in our basement this morning. We called the sanitiation company out and they checked their lines and told us that it must have something to do with the house line and we would have to call a plumber. Have not decided yet about calling a plumber - so if you have any suggestions please feel free to share!!
2. Then in the afternoon Tom started tearing apart the kids loose shower tiles only to discover that yes the backer board is rotting. So now it has turned into a huge project. We even considered ripping up all the tile and putting all new walls and tub up more to our liking. But that is of course so expenses and we have discovered that it seems our bathroom is one inch shorter then standard. So that was a fun trip to Lowes. Anyways, we have decided to stick with the repair but what was four tiles has turned into twenty.
3. Finally tonight our realtor comes by with a Christmas present and reports that she smells natural gas outside our home, so the Gas company has now been called. They have come out and said that yes there is a small leak on our outside meter and they are fixing it as we speak.
This has been quite the day!!
Well, let's end on a fun note and enjoy a video of Dylan dancing!!
