What a sick week it has been.
Yes, none of us avoided the sickness. In fact I was so sick on Tom's birthday that I stayed in bed for half of it and I was unable to make him a birthday cake or birthday dinner or even eat dinner that day. Then Olivia was sick the next day.
Then Wednesday I ventured out with the kids into the back yard for 30 minutes of snow play. Dylan face planted shortly after going out there so he just wanted held must of the time. So I kept it really short and told Olivia we had to go inside because Dylan was getting too cold. Then Dylan gets mad that we came in. I guess he thought I needed to carry him around some more in the cold. Not to mention I was still weak from my sickness. Fun fun.
Then Thursday my parents where in town for some continuing education for my Dad. So I spent the day with my Mom. We took Olivia and Dylan to the library and had a story time and craft. Olivia got reindeer antlers and made a ginger bread house. Olivia was very proud to show off her library and story time to Grammy Lee. Then we went home and made paper snowflakes and dipped pretzels in almond bark. After we picked Papa up from his class we did some Christmas shopping.
Then to finish off the week we all came down with colds. As if starting out the week sick with the stomach flu wasn't enough....
Friday I asked Livie if she wanted to go see Santa because she woke up acting very tired still. So she jumped right up and said "YES" and "we need to bring him the reindeer food so he can feed it to his reindeer". (She got reindeer food at the library too - I was hoping she would forget about it since we don't go all out with Santa but since she decided to give the food to Santa I figured that was a good use for it.) Then Livie was very upset that we were going to be late to see Santa and I needed to hurry and get ready. (Livia doesn't usually care about being late for things because she doesn't usually know the time frame in which we need to be places, so I found this very cute that we couldn't be late for Santa!) So we get to the playgroup party with 15 minutes to spare we get settled in and Santa comes. He brought a gift for each child and then Olivia give him the reindeer food. Olivia was very shy with Santa and didn't want to talk to him and was shy about sitting on his lap but still did. Dylan wanted nothing to do with sitting on Santa's lap so we settled for Mommy's lap and then Santa was acceptable. Livie was very excited by her gift from Santa and played with the stuff non stop for the rest of the day.
Then Saturday Tom had a Scouts orienteering course in the morning while I went grocery shopping. Then in the afternoon we headed to my parents house because my brother was in town for the weekend. Olivia was a little shy at first here too even though she was so excited to see Mommy's Big Brother. oh well, she warmed up quickly and then it was a lot of fun. Uncle Joe likes to tease Olivia that he is going to take her food if she doesn't eat it and he actually does sometimes just to make sure she knows he means it. So cute! So we hung out there and talked and played and then came home late Saturday night. Forgot my camera for the day - oh well.
Today was been typical with me still learning my Primary duties and I was able to attend the first baptism of one of my primary children. Very special!
Oh and I forgot to mention that Dylan turned 18 months this week!! So Big!! This was his first official week in nursery all though he has been attended for a while now and loving it. But today he got thrown off when I went in and got Olivia so she could visit Primary (she'll start Sunbeams in two weeks) and I didn't get Dylan. That confused him and he wasn't happy in for the rest of church. poor boy - oh well hopefully next week will go smoother.
Dylan's two favorite words right now are "Stop" and "Oh No"! He says this constantly and it is just so cute!! Oh and it was our Christmas Choir performance today and after one of the duets Dylan cheers "yeah" so loud the whole congregation heard him. He got lots of smiles.
One more week down!!
Things coming up this week -- Christmas!! Tom is off work for two weeks for his Christmas Break!! It should be LOTS of fun!
