Eckert's Outing

Olivia has just really started to understand that apples grow on trees so every tree is an apple tree right now. So when I heard from a friend about apple picking being in season we decided to give it a try. When we started out today it was very foggy and chilly. I took some pictures of the fog because in some spots you couldn't see the stop light you were coming up on. When we got there we rode a wagon to the apple orchard and then over to the pumpkin field. We picked Golden and Red Delicious and Jonathan. In the pumpkin field we picked one for carving and one Olivia's size. We brought a picnic lunch and then we wandered over to watch pumpkins being shot from a canon. They would send them over the trees or aim that at a car and barrels set up. Tom found this all very entertaining! We had a great time!! Dylan was asleep as soon as we hit the road. On our way back we took the shorter way which included taking a ferry across the Mississippi. Olivia enjoyed the water and boats passing by. What a fun family outing!!
