Tom's Break

Tom has taken two days off work to re cope and spend with the family. Yesterday Tom had his mid-term in his Systems Engineering course. Which he felt good about. Afterwards we went out to lunch at a place called Il Vicinios that Tom really likes. His work group likes to eat out there and he as been wanting to show me. It is a wood fired brick oven pizza restaurant. Very very good! While we were eating lunch Olivia decided (even though we warned her) that she would take a bit of lemon. Her face was the classic pucker "what was that" look. Tom and I just laughed it was one of those cute moments that we get to enjoy as parents. Afterwards we hung out at a mall where we were able to hide out from the rain. The mall we were at has a sports store that as a lot of animals (alive and stuffed) displayed. So Olivia loves to go look at everything. Which was perfect for Tom since he wanted to go look at camping/back packing supplies.

On Tom's second day off we hit up the dentist this morning where we all got our teeth cleaned - even Olivia!!! It was her first time. We talked it up so big and even read her a couple of books about Barney and Dora going to the dentist that she was even started to ask to go to the dentist. Finally the day came. She watched Daddy for about 5 minutes and then it was her turn. She did great!!! She let them do everything to her with no hesitation. By the time the dentist came she was starting to think it ought to be over by now but she laid back down so the dentist could take a look and then she was all done. I was so impressed!! This afternoon we are going to go to the Magic House. So I'm sure I'll post some pictures from that. So Tom's days off have been a mixture of responsibilities and fun. At least its a small break from the everyday job.
