Okay so I forgot the camera on the first day of swim lessons so to be honest this is the second day. However, it is Dylan's first day moved up into the BIG youth swim class. His preschool swim teachers agreed he didn't need to be in that class another year and allowed him to move up. Aren't they cute holding hands? Dylan's so happy to be in Olivia's class this year.
Daddy got to take the kids to swim lessons this day and I got to take Ashlyn to the pediatricians office. She had a high fever and was crying crying crying. They told me she had blisters in her mouth caused by the virus of hand foot and mouth disease. We were told it was very contagious mostly to 5 and under and that it usually starts in the mouth and takes 3 to 7 days to reach it's full reaction. There is nothing you can do besides wait it out. So we headed home with the knowledge that this could take some time to work through her little body. We also knew that the 4th of July celebrations the next day would not include Ashlyn or Mommy. Then we had to consider what it meant for her birthday a few days later.
Oh I forgot that Ashlyn was so miserable and just crying crying and could only sleep for 30 minute intervals that Tom and a friend gave Ashlyn a blessing that night and the effect was immediate. Ashlyn was able to fall asleep and slept for 6 hours straight. Her fever broke the next day and she seemed so much happier. She was still not eating but we were waiting to see what her body would do.
For the 4th Daddy took Olivia and Dylan to the church breakfast and the town parade.
Then came fireworks time Ashlyn was determined not to be left behind again. She insisted on coming too. We walked up (along the Katy Trail, just a bit longer than expected) and got there right as the fireworks began. We had great seats for a great fireworks show!
