We had a great 4th of July this year. We started out at our church's 4th of July breakfast at a local park. We decided Olivia might be old enough to enjoy the town parade so we gave that a try. Olivia really enjoyed it and enjoyed all the candy that got thrown her way. Dylan even gave some claps here and there. Then we headed home for naps and regrouping. When Dylan woke up Daddy took the kids swimming and Mommy went shopping. After dinner we headed out to see our town's fireworks. Olivia was getting very tired by this point since she doesn't nap anymore. She was about to fall asleep when the fireworks started. She wanted to be held tight during the fireworks and even tried to fall asleep during them until of course the very LOUD finale. Dylan was just happily sitting in Daddy's lap and occasionally clapped and laughed at what he saw. Olivia was fast asleep when we got her into the car but all the way home Dylan was going strong. He seemed so excited to be up so late I was worried he wouldn't go to sleep but as soon as his little eyes closed he was out of it too. What a fun 4th of July with the kids!!
